Originally founded in 1983 by Robin Marshall, Epos continues to be one of those loudspeaker
brands people aspire to own.
In 1999, Michael Creek purchased the brand and having had the opportunity to work closely with
Robin Marshall for several years, it became apparent to Michael that there was a great synergy
between Creek electronics and Epos loudspeakers. The underlying philosophies of both company
founders were undoubtedly similar.
After Mike purchased the brand, the first speakers introduced were the M Series. These were
followed by M.2’s and then the Mi. The introduction of a centre channel and subwoofer meant
that Epos had a true quality 5.1 surround system.
In the interim a lower cost ELS range was introduced - this range also included a centre and sub -
a system which proved extremely popular with the U.K. hi fi press. This was closely followed by a
dedicated 5.1 system known as the AVS. It followed the trend of the time being supplied in a high
gloss black finish and featured four small satellites, a centre pus a remote controllable active sub.
Epos had long been asked for a flagship model - and in 2010 the Encore 50 was released. This
exceptional speaker has really enhanced the Epos reputation.
With the discontinuation of the ELS series a year or two back, 2011 will see the introduction
of a new and exciting lower cost range - the Epics. The styling of these speakers harks back to
Epos of old and the range is already attracting a lot of positive comment.
Epos always manufactures its own speaker stands - ideally suited to its standmount models.
